About Me

Hi! I'm Janis Lehrer!
I am an actuary by day, and photographer by night and weekend.
With the help of my very patient and understanding husband(pictured above) who gifted me my camera, along with the encouragement and generosity of a very caring friend, I created this website in an effort to showcase my portfolio thus far. I want to make sure people are comfortable and excited about their photos and because of that I will go to extra lengths to get the shots you want. If after reading all of this you are interested in having some photos taken, please book a session with me! If not, please keep reading and understand just how dedicated and passionate I am about photography.
Photography has always been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. When I was in Kindergarten I started looking at the Best Buy ads and running numbers on my lemonade stand profits to see how soon I could save up for that really nice camera. Slowly over the years, I have upgraded my camera equipment as I've developed my skill. I started with the basics - at age 5 my equipment consisted of Kodak instant film cameras to capture those "precious moments" at my brother's wedding. (Mainly my parents didn't trust me not to break or lose anything more expensive). After a few years and plenty of money spent developing film, my parents gifted me my first point and shoot digital camera when I was 9. My only clients at that time were my two dogs and flowers so I became well versed in animal and landscape photography. Once I had saved up enough babysitting money, I bought my first SLR camera, a Canon Rebel. This camera taught me all of the basics of photography but I quickly outgrew this one as well. That brings me to today, where I have my favorite camera yet the Canon EOS 5D Mark III.
Now that you know my full, and probably a bit too detailed story about my love of photography, please contact me if you're interested in any photos!
